Re: Pic request: 96-00 Civic, interior upgrades
I dyed it like 2 or 3 years ago. I dont think id ever do it again. Wayyy to much work to do it right.
But i guess it was worth it. Still holds up just fine, no fading, no scratches etc. No one that has ever been in my car has ever suspected it was dyed.

I cant find the original thread i referenced, but this one is similar.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...dye+dash+black
Once i got my CTR door panels, and Recaros, the rest of the interior just didnt look right, so thats why i did mine. I finished it off with 09 Si Rear seats and I couldnt be happier.
I took everything out, hosed it down , used soapy water to clean it, let it dry, then used a vinyl cleaner, i dont recall what it was called. Pretty much your parts should squeek when they are clean enough. After that, i used Bulldog Adhesive Promotor , then some SEM Satin Black paint/dye.
The key is to take your time with it, dont cut any corners, and you will come out with an OEM looking black interior. But the difference is night and day. When ever I sit in or look at a stock 99-00 Civic interior, I cant believe the car started out the same way.
The supply cost can add up as the SEM is like $13-15 per can and i dont recall how many i went through, but Im pretty sure i cleaned out my local paint shop. This is definitely something you dont want to cut any corners with.
