Paint Valve Cover
im planing to paint my vlave cover black, this is my first time, dont really care if i mess up cause my motor is coming pretty soon. do i need to sand off the old paint??? or just paint it over it? is it hard to sand the paint off?

Go to autozone or whatever and get this stuff Aircraft Remover (in the spray can form). Just take off your valve cover and spray the whole top with that stuff, let it sit for about 15 minutes than hose it off real good. Then do again. You can get about 99% of the paint off without any physical work
Then just paint back over with the engine paint that pepboys and everyone sells and if you like use a clear gloss engine paint to protect from scratches.

No, I used primer, and regular auto paint (not engine paint), it's lasted 2.5 years, no problems.
