I am interested in doing a little freshening up of my front bumper. Unfortunately, i sorta messed it up a little already trying to touch up stuff.
Here's the story:
I accidentally added some tainted thinner to my touch up paint so i could use my airbrush...needless to say, my touchup paint is not the right color. i didn't know it was wrong till it dried, so i had to rub it off with rubbing compound. Well, here we go, the problem: i think i may have rubbed off the clear coat...so can i re-spray it to touch up the clear coat?? I would like to just go buy some clear coat and use my airbrush to redo it...is this something i can do?? I am a fairly good painter, so i think i may be able to do it smoothly.
anyways, sorry for the long post, but it's bugging me every time i look at it.
thanks.

If you have control with an airbrush, and technicaly you cannot make your bumper look worse, I would recommend a wet sand paper at high high grade, such as 1,500. Sand bumper between paint and clear coat. Paint in dustless area. A must!
