jdm type r conversion

jdm type r conversion
i went to local body shops and got estimates to paint and put on my jdm front end. the estimates range from 1500 to 1700. is that a reasonable price?? im not sure if its too much plus i dont have much to spend...could anyone give me some input.

i found someone on cragislist and he said he'll paint it for 500, but i still need to see what kind of work he's done before.
