duh, I did ask and he said they were real. The transaction was complex and I don't want to get into what I should and should'nt have done. That does'nt really matter anymore.
Regardless I stopped by a local shop that had ergo2's in stock and mine are exactly the same in everyway. We looked them over and the seats apear to be real

this is the correct answer. I'll give out the secrets.
On the bottom side *****, there's a plastic cover near the ****.
if it's flat, it's real. if it has bumps or ridges, it's fake. take a look at both sides too.
There you guys have it. Now you can point and laugh at your friend's fake seat.
BTW, buying seats for "looks" is rice. I'd buy seats for FIA aproveal for track racing. don't be lame. posers
Here's pictures of a fake Bride Brix II:

cloth, plush, soft, etc. I bet you guys thought it was real. Doesn't mater, it goes well with most of the owners here anyways. fake goes with fake y0.

Thank you for re-itterating this. Mine are flat also the bride tag says "made in japan" and has some japanese writing on it. Also under the seat there is a white sticker that has the bride holding monster on it and it says "type G" which is ergo 2. They have'nt ripped off the ergo 2 to my knowledge yet thank god

Re: How to tell the difference between real and fake brides
I don't think you can tell by pictures. I've seen several of these seats direct from ebay and they looked just like everything in this thread. The only definitive thing I see is that post above about the plate by the ****.

Re: How to tell the difference between real and fake brides
I'm sorry to see you have those seats. I got them before also, Did a half sleeve tattoo for them. Well I caught wind that the guy I got them from wasn't really telling the truth about them. My friends said it was fake, cause they said that the guy felt it was fake and got ripped off too. Some shops down here said fake some said not fake... The shop that said not fake offered me a set of SSR type-x(mint), hks catback, and some tanabe springs. I traded him with the quickness; tired of wondering if they where real or fake...
