Hey all, my Crx roof was all rusted up, leaks water, lifts up on high speed, just plain garbage. Then one day I woke up with this idea and went ahead and tried it. After 4hrs this came about and very happy with my work.









Total cost 40 bucks

Did you buy the lexan at least?? Regular plexi-glass will scratch ALOT and look awful in no time.

Home Depot carried it when I worked there 5 years back, not sure if they still do. It has the brown paper liner instead of the clear liner.

 

Sorry to resurrect an old post but... I've thought of doing this for a while but was reluctant to spend the money on material without knowing if it would work. You did a good job, looks nice.

I have a few questions if you are still have this setup...

How dows it look now after a year+ in the sun, cleaning, etc. Yellowing, scratching?

What did you use to black out the outer edge?
What thickness plexi did you use?
Does it still function (open).
