thanks guys.

This was our first to machine and for some reason it decided to leave some little machine marks at the top where the logo is. That will be worked out before the next one is finished.

Should be finishing this one up within a couple of weeks, then it all gets anodized and out to its rightful owner...

I am expecting it to take around 500 amps to fully weld that together. Thank god we have the Dynasty 700!

well that is technically pulsed at 500pulses per second.

Running hot like that and pulsing super fast keeps alot better arc control and keeps the tungsten form deforming so bad. High frequency makes a big difference too but constant heat will destroy it really quick if your not careful.

what freq and tungsten do you use when welding thick alum like this?
i've been using orange at 120hz on my dyn350 and the tungsten deforms pretty badly

I always run 400hz on all my aluminum welds

Since day one when I got it out of the box it was 400hz boom! lol

It keeps the welds nice and small and you can run very hot without tearing up the tungsten. I use 1/8" orange at 350 amps and the tip just barely ***** over. With 3/32nd it will ball to big and actually drip and ruin a weld but with 1/8th things are smooth as butter.

i have been welding the same way with my dynasty 350. balance @ 75 hz @ 400 & between 500 to 1000 pulses per second depending on what the material is. i asked if anyone else was doing this in someone elses post, but i got no responses. the lowest i ever go on the hz is like 250, & i cannot stand to use a transformer machine anymore!

the noise at 400hz is pretty annoying LOL. my now deceased husky would run away when i'd weld aluminum at 400.

no the dynasty 350 will do 400hz. i think the dynasty 200 only does 250 or it might go up to 300. i can't remember off hand.

well we had two diff ones a reg 350 and a DX. almost positive the regular ones went to 250 and the DX went to 300. These machines are like 4 years old now.

20 hz, you're funny Rok. 60 out of the wall.
Nice work, very unique.
As for the welding, 500amps seems like overkill, but it should look nice if you move fast enough. I think 300 amps would do fine. I really use the variable polarity amplitude adjustment if I'm over 100amps. You rarely need more than 100 amps of cleaning(especially billet cnc stuff) and you can really save the tungsten. I did a job for the polytechnic, and I did it at 320 amps EN, 120 amps EP, 90% balance, and 400hz. It was 3/4" thick, and 2 ft long. Welded like butter. Anyway, not trying to tell anybody how to weld, just throwing my 2 cents in. Nobody talked much about that, which I think is the best feature once you take the leap past the 200.
I really haven't used the 400hz much except for tacking without filler, or getting into tight spots, as I really like 250hz for my aluminum exhaust. Might have to tinker again. The dynasty 350/700 almost have too many variables...almost!
