Default Falken Ziex 512 vs. Ziex 502

I ordered some Falken Ziex 512's in 205/50/15 to go on some '95 EX wheels that i'm gonna put on my 2001 Accord 4 dr. But, after hearing some comments of others on the board...i realized that this tire size is too small. The tires are on backorder. So, i'm considering getting some Ziex 502's in 205/60/15. They're the same price. But, I wanted to know if the 512's were a lot better than the 502's. Anybody have either of these? Is there an advantage to one or the other? Please help.

how do you figure that's too small a tire for an accord? that's an aspect ratio of, what, 10 less than stock? 5 even? there's no problem with that tire size.

maybe you should consider lowering your car some more. gettin bigger tires to fill in the gap is ridiculous.

The 502s are about on par with Nitto NT450...

I ranked them last in a tire shootout I did at Streets of Willow. 1st: Bridgestone RE730 2nd: Toyo FZ4 3rd: Falken 502. All are UTGQ 300, and 195/50-15.

both ZylexSNL and I have the 512's....and i can not believe how well these things perform in both wet and dry situations

the 512's have a different compound then the 502's giving them a little better ride. Also the 512's have a very slight mud and snow rating because of some lines that they made on the outer tread blocks..so if you are looking for something that will also be good in the winter these will be awesome

The 502's have a better tread pattern, the 512 is more of an all weather tire. But 502's are being phased out and the 512 is taking its place.

Thanks for all the advice. I think i'm gonna just stick w/ the 512's since it seems to be a slightly better tire. Also, I do plan on lowering later. So, guess i'll just have to live w/ the wheelgap for now.
