DIY Amber gauge in EG turned Red
Well I painted the bulbs on my EG cluster this weekend and this is what it turned out to be.
I turned reddish but I like it even better!
What I do not like is that the numbers are brighter than the needles.
I searched replacement needles but I'm in Asia so it is impracical to ship these colored illuminated needles. Any on else did this to your cluster?
Post pics! Thanks

Re: (hondaevo)
I just removed the condom like cover on the bulbs of the cluster and painted it a couple of coats, just like most people did around here.
I think I put too many coats of the orange transparent model paint and it turned red. I like it a lot! Makes me different from everyone else.
BTW Stock eg clusters came in white in PI, it was only after 1996 that the cluster of PhDM and JDM became similar.
I noticed the cluster of EK that there is an auxillary light mounted in front of the cluster to illuminate the needle white. I did this and everything turned white including the numbers. I hope I can find out how to highlight the needles.

i went to michaels and got some testors competition orange spray paint...if you want more of an amber color, i heard somewhere that using a bright orange spray paint or something from home depot works well
you can check it out here

Foliatech transparent paint.
Others used testors competition orange spray paint but I can't find it here.
Anyone tried green bulbs yet?

jdm cluster requires thinking.. km/h sucks
i don't want to swap the jdm cluster because then i won't know how many miles are on my shell.. which some might say is good.. but i like to know what my car has on it
