CRSfoto.com presents what you didnt see at Eibach 2010(my non-event coverage v.2.0)
So last year i took a trip out to Socal and had an incredible time... it was quite an adventure from Chicago to SF, and all the way down to corona for the Eibach meet. i posted a thread similar to this one and got a great response, and it seemed everyone who took a look really enjoyed the different take on event coverage. heres a link to the OG thread so u can take a look at that too if u would like.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-acura-28/what-you-didnt-see-eibach-my-non-event-coverage-2578077/
and just like last year i was NOT dissapointed. Socal showed me a great time, and i got to hang out with the people who make all of this worth it. they are truly the reason i get so excited to make these threads. every year everyone shows so much love and makes it all so much fun... the cars are secondary.
I also want to send a personal thank u tho everyone who made this trip what it was. every single person i spoke with was super nice, and was a pleasure speaking with. not to mention all the people that went out of their way to make sure us out-of-towners had a blast...
now i wish i could share all of my photos of the event but i just cant due to the images going to print which is a huge honor... so my photos will document what went on when i arrived and all the way up to and a few images even after the event.
last year i also made a follow up thread documenting the actual event, and i plan on doing that a few months from now after the magazine releases. so please keep an eye out for that as well.
ok...
early morning on thursday the 13th i arrived at o'hare international airport, and made sure to snap a photo of the terminal i was leaving from as this would mark the true beginning of my adventure. its always interesting to see the looks u get while snapping photos in the airport haha...
shortly thereafter i landed at LAX and waited for the PG+K dudes to pick me up. from there we went on directly over to Showstoppers USA where S2kjays car was awaiting some last minute details to be worked out.
Bonb doin work like always....
car was still dirty in the below photos...
bay is still not finished... cant wait to see the finished product.
these dudes really know how to party haha... so after they knocked out some details on the s2, they decided to shotgun a beer or two lol.... after this is vacation.
the car was still dirty so jay rinsed it off so we could roll out and enjoy sunny Socal some more.
we rolled into long beach, and hit up the Hilton where we were staying so i could drop off my stuff and shower so we could head out and meet up with Joey Lee(stickydiljoe.com) and a few other of the guys at Midnight Garage.
after talking for a bit we decided to hit up portillos.... a chicago hot dog joint, which some of the east coast dudes werent familiar with... from what i understand Socal just got a few portillos locations recently.... i felt right at home haha.
after portillos we decided to go back to long beach and see about some nightlife. we went to Shannon's and had some drinks and kinda relaxed for a while and called it a night.
Friday somewhere around noon we all rolled out of bed, and decided we wanted to go to hooters for lunch. around that same time Sean Bradford was landing from his flight out from Baltimore Maryland. we waited for him and then we all took off to hooters and enjoyed some more beer LOL and some wings of course...
Bon, trying to destroy my photos as always lol!
how i roll!
theseanbradford.com
every body throwin' down.
Sean excited to see the Long Beach Grand Prix course...
randoms.
stuffed we all jumped in the rentals, and headed out to attic, which wasnt too far away. where we would meet up with the Seen it! guys from Chicago in the black s2000.... these guys are good friends of mine and locals as well. they made the trek all the way from Chicago to Socal in a highly modified S2000.... the car is something serious, and putting this car and Jay's s2000 in the same place draws crowds like u wouldnt believe.
the car is FILTHY in the photo below, due to the two day drive out through storms.
its always been a goal of mine to make it to Northwood Pizza for obvious reasons, and Friday night we got the opportunity to enjoy the great food.
we also got to hang out with the guys from Hybrid Racing.. it turned out to be a lot more people than expected, and was really a great time.
EGmike enjoying the box lol...
later that night was a huge fail, since we left Northwood Pizza so late and the bars close so early in Long Beach. so we basically called it a night.
Saturday morning we got up and Sean EGmike and myself jumped in the Nissan Versa and decided to grab in n out and hit the beach... the rest of the group would spend the better part of the day at The Boiling Crab, and later to detail s2kjay's car.
not too much longer we found ourselves enjoying the sights at newport beach, and just cruising around listening to Dubstep....
fast forward a bit and we were back in Long Beach to meet up with my good friend Danny, who just finished an amazing hatchback. he was chilling with the Hybrid Racing dudes and we decided to go grab some sushi. i have never had sushi until this day, and it took a lot to get me to try it finally. all in all i really didnt mind the taste. id consider trying it again.
after eating we just knew people would be interesting in drinking a bit so we stopped by a local store and grabbed some beer haha... :alkie:
soon after Seenit! Nick and Brandon showed up with my good friend Ricky who last year moved out to Socal from Chicago. he always comes to visit when im in Cali and i really do appreciate it.
if im not mistaken Sean bradford took the photo below because we somehow switched memory cards by accident(my fault im sure)
however that was right as we were rolling out to go shoot Danny's EG... i cant release any of the photos just yet, but we found an amazing spot to go shoot, and that was a lot of fun as well.
believe me the shadow in this photo bothers me more than u! haha...
tim is insane! haha... he has a set of photos of me hanging out of my car too lol.
this car looks so sinister at night!
Danny having a blast.
a few of the guys and myself went from there to jay's relatives house in Long beach to have a BBQ... this may have been my favorite part of the whole trip. such great company, and the food was the best ive had in a long time. definitely the best i had while i was on the trip!
the guys, just hanging out.
Jay showing us the goods....
that basically wrapped up the night as we had to be up super early for the Eibach meet. i did manage to snap a few rollers of Jay's car and Nick's car on the way in...
now.... if uve made it this far, i almost feel bad for u, considering this is a car website and theres really only a few cars in here, but i do appreciate u reading my story.
Eibach was amazing but i honestly cant show most of that stuff, as im not sure what will be used for Honda Tuning. i did manage to shoot some of the people at the event tho, so as soon as i get through those, i will definitely add to this post.
also i shot a GREAT dc5 after the event, which i figured id share.... i sure hope u enjoy because i know i did.
whew.... i know that was long, but i thank u for taking a look. i just want to share my adventure.
u can see more of my photos on my flickr, if u are interested.
