Not really, I mean if it's a good quality trusted brand, I don't think it matters too much. Everyone has their preferences, I just started taking pics about 8months ago with my roommates Canon S200, and I got used to the settings and menu's. I've played around with other digi-cams in the store, but I still prefer the Canon layout, and feel, so I've stayed loyal to Canon. But if you want to see some really nice pics, look at KJ's shots, I believe he's using a 3.2MP Sony, those pics kill mine, so it's not all about the MP. Probably would want to stay away from anything under 2.0.

i do think the brand is important. sort get what you pay for. http://www.dpreview.com is a good site to learn about some digi cams.

also another member UNSUNGEM1 uses a 3.2 sony camera. takes very nice pics as well.

impressive rodrez!! yes KJ is a pic ***** and he's good
speaking of dpreview.com, IMO most people there are pro canon because all new canons are automatically jumped to the top spots

Yeah, they seem to be really popular lately. The quality is great, the pics are crisp, and again the layout/menu is excellent IMO.

My buddy was using one of those, he loved it, said it was point and click, but I don't have any examples. Here's a review board for that cam: http://www.dpreview.com/review...scp92
