Not all places are the same. Best thing to do is go to your local MAACO body shop and ask to see the latest painted car at their place. If you like what you see, then go for it. But I warn you; you get what you pay for.
Price also depends on paint quality. for 500 bucks, they can be using home depot/walmart paint for all you know lol.

My $200 maaco paint job. I sanded my own car, taped the edje, removed any rubber, muffler, all lights, threw some steelies on, etc...there are a lot of flaws....extremely thin paint, the upper body has decent amount of paint but the lower porton of the bumper, sideskirt, and front lower bumper is rough becuase of no gloss....which I honestly think its base paint mix with clear and shot it once.
Funny thing is that I picked a darker gunmetal color off his paint book and he just wrote down medium gray....this wasnt even the color I expected...I wanted to be darker gray .....oh well for $200...thats what I get...I dont recommend it for the time and effort I put into preping my car. But then again I didnt want a $1,000 paint job for my beat up integra anyways.....

What was the name of the color you told MAACO to paint your car? I hear they have different names for OEM color codes.

I got my car painted at a place called 1DayPaint which is essentially the same thing as Maaco. They got overspray everywhere possible. Including my rims, tires, headlights, moldings, engine, suspension, etc. And since it was red all of my car parts were pink afterwards. I will never get a cheap paint job again.

I am getting my car painted at Maaco as we speak, it will be ready friday, the car is a 94 coupe, the color is Milano Red with a tinge of black to make the red a bit deeper and darker.

I will take some pics as soon as the car arrives...for a maaco job it should be good enough to last me a year or two.

I did all the prep work by myself to save on costs since my pass side 1/4 had a 4" dent right where the moulding is. I put about 40 hours in to the work, I was thinking about getting the 1/4's cut and welded but the money and conditions did not allow for that at the time.

the car arrived at maaco on a tow truck windows already masked off, whole car primered...the guy at maaco was pretty cool, went over the whole car with me, told me that everything seems ok, told me exactly what he'll be doing ie. sanding, sealer then paint, he even told me he'll do his best job on it.

I'll have some pics for you guys on friday.

yeah 1daypaintnbody sucks. my buddy painted his car there and he had overspray everywhere!! Maaco did a pretty good job on the old hatch. no overspray on the muffler. they even cleaned the overspray that i did on my windows with the primer
