Default 1954 Honda Dream 4E

Well, I came across this Vintage 1954 Honda Dream 4E for sale, and I'm thinking I may purchase it. I enjoy vintage autos/bikes, especially Hondas, I think this would compliment my S600 nicely:

Obviously, it needs a total resto, but it could look like this:

Is it missing it's seat?

Yeah, it's missing the seat and exhaust, and parts for these old bikes are virtually impossible to find, so they will have to fabbed up, or taken from a doner bike.

The asking price on this Bike is 7000 euro, around $8400 (+/-) US.

The Dream D and E type bikes are extremely rare, and highly sought after, and almost impossible to find. A fully restored early Dream can fetch upwards of $30K, a mint unrestored example $50K+

Well it is expensive, but you're not just buying a "motorcycle", you're also buying into a peice of history. Not just Honda history, but Japanese (and world) motorcycle manufacturing and economic history. After WW2, the Japanese economy was at or near depression, having turned into a militant society (militant is the sense that most manufacturing was done to support the war), only a few manufactures survived to produce anything for their consumer market, then Honda came out with this revolutionary 4-stroke, inexpensive, and easy to maintain motorcycle. This in turn sparked competition between the big 4 (Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki) to produce the next best technologically advanced machines. Some say Honda, (along with the other big 3 of course) had played a key role in saving the Japanese economy.

Owning a peice from that key period in history is Priceless.
