I don't know of any cars that are made out of ABS plastic.

Not the whole car. And it's not ABS plastic is it? Isnt' it different? I remember my neighbor had one that got hit, and a chunk of the 1/4 panel was ripped off, it looked like fiberglass on the inside, with little hairs sticking out of it

i meant the bumpers are made of plastic
but wouldnt changing the hood, fenders, and bumpers to carbon fiber provide strength in case of accidents? i mean carbon fiber is supposedly stronger than metal and abs plastic right.

Re: (Rice Is Best)
Carbon Fiber has a higher tensil strength as apposed to metal. But metal will hold up better in impact situations. For example, take a hammer and hit a CF hood and Metal hood with the same swing and see which one gets damaged more.

technically the metal hood would...only because it doesnt absorb the impact as well as the CF hood will...thats why you get dents on your fenders and hood all the time...but when its something more then a hammer...like maybe a 3000lb car...metal is teh winner
not sure on this but do hondas have the steel beams/rods inside the door to help with side impacts?

So are the door and other body panels. I have one at work and lets just say it was hard to shave the handels. I now call it bubbles it was at sema as a bridgestone feature car.
