my 03 accord ex 4 cylinder with 200000 miles cel came on with a P0341 code. Replaced the battery and they light went off for three days only to come back on with the same code. Replaced the camshaft sensor and reset the cel only to have the light come back on when I restarted the car. The car was cold started. Now if I reset the cel when the engine is warm I can restart the car numerous times and drive it without the cel coming on. any ideas on why. My car was a cal emission lev car

The timing chain is stretched - only way to get rid of the code is to replace it.

Update: Called about five different garages, and they quoted between $1300-$1600. Called an independent Honda shop, and they said it's definitely the timing chain and potentially a sensor but they quoted $650.

Will update once it gets out of the shop!

Final update:
Heard back from the garage today, and they did confirm timing was off, but they said two of the valves were bent as well. They told me that since they already have most the parts, they're only going to charge me for labor. Thanks again for all the help!
