Default What should the vacuum measure at idle?

03 Accord V6 Auto - 170,000 miles

I have the Haynes manual, but I can't seem to find the vacuum reading for when the engine is idle.

Do you know what it should be?

I'm having some pinging issues I need resolved.

Possible problems it says are EGR, Spark Plugs (changed 50,000 ago), Vacuum leak and Fuel Injection System.

Thank you!

I don't know values for 3.0 V6 but in general a gauge reading of steady needle of 17-21inch is general good reading .
Smaller engines tend to go toward lower end and bigger V8 tend to be in upper .

If your pinging is a part throttle type that happens when opening throttle a bit i would look to clogged EGR valve .

Yes, it seems to be only when partially opening the throttle especially going up a hill at lower speeds where i can actually hear it.

I'll report back after cleaning EGR.

Thank you!
