Default Spongy brake pedal after brake bleed!!

as the title states, even after i bled the brakes, (front driverside, front passenger, rear passenger, rear driverside as the manual states) my pedal still feels spongy and not as "stiff" as i recall it to be. anyone having this similar problem or have a solution to it?

probably time for new brake master cylinder and if you change pads recently and depressed piston back into calipers with out cracking the bleeder , you probably kicked back piston in the master cylinder and now have to replace the master

Are you sure you bled the brakes correctly? A spongy brake pedal usually means air in the lines. If the master cylinder leaks, the pedal will usually sink toward the floor slowly. I've never cracked the bleed screw to push the piston back in, and no problem.

the bleed technique you used is different from what i have always followed.

i bleed using the x pattern. front driver, rear passenger, front passenger, rear driver. i normally do this pattern twice for each brake and have never had issues.

bleed them again.

are you doing this by yourself with a kit or is someone pumping while you bleed?

I don't think it really matters what order you bleed. Each wheel has it's own line, and it doesn't come straight from the master cylinder with ABS. If the guy pumping the brakes lets the pedal come up, before you tighten the bleed screw, he has just sucked air into the lines. With the two person method, both have to know what the other is doing, exactly when they're doing it, so there is more chance for error.
