Default Roaring noise

I have a 2006 ex accord I4. While driving at all speeds I hear a roaring noise coming from the front on the car. It seems like it is a bit louder towards the driver side while driving. When I put the car in neutral at 45mph roaring noise is still there. I thought it might be the tires, but the noise seems just too loud. The car has 73k on it. Please help.

Thanks for your response. Do wheel bearings go bad around 73k miles?? Also, there is no shimmy, shake, or excessive play in the steering wheel. All responses appreciated.

Could be the wheel bearing but, they don't usually go out that soon. You need to check runout on the wheel for that. Also check for super low tread on the tires, axle boots are torn, brake pads are worn down to the wear indicators, cracks in the air intake.

How old are your tires, or did you replace your tires?

Some tires are just aweful when it comes to road noise.

Yea sounds like wheel bearings. I have had them go bad on a civic around 80K before. If the bearing is bad enough you can jack the car up at that wheel and shake it to see If there is any play in the wheel. Also look for uneven wearing on that tire compared to others because that could also be a sign on wheel bearing issues. Also if the tires are all the same age and and you rotate them properly and it is coming from just one tire it is probaly an issue with that part of the car

Thank you guys for your expertise. You guys are all wizards. The problem was a bad wheel bearing on the driver side. Replaced at a local Honda dealership for $300. Noise has gone away. What about the right side (passanger side)? Will it also go bad soon? All responses appreciated.

Right may go 200k. Never know on wheel bearings, but I've never had one fail on a Honda.

check the wheel bearing, they can fail early if it's ever had any impact on that wheel like a curb, large pot-hole, or lost the seal and got contamination in the bearing.

Honestly I would replace it only when it fails. Same goes with the rears. You will certainly know when they do; now more than ever.
