I was looking to buy/install these on my 4-door 2006 Accord EX when I noticed that almost no other sedans in my garage (indoor pay garage for work) have these.

So, my questions are:
1. Do they really "protect" my car from road debris? Do they really make a difference?
2. Other than the $ and the style implications, is there any reason I should not be getting these?

1- Yes, they really do keep debris from riding up the tire towards the rocker panels behind the front wheel and onto the rear bumper in the back.
2-your question is invalid, there are no style implications... they look good on the car.

2. There is nothing wrong not having it. I have it on both cars now because the dealer was trying to make extra $$$ and package it in. I had no choice. I would not "pay for them." IMO, they don't make the car more ugly or make the car look better. Very netural in terms of style.

By style "implications," I was not trying to imply that the car would look better/worse but different. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
