Outside temp button

Hi all,
How do you keep it on so that it will not change to miles driven? Thanks all, Dave

It should stay on outside temperature display, once you select it by pushing the trip meter select/reset ****. Is this an add-on, or was it equipped with it from the factory? That may make a difference.
