O2 sensor question
2003 Honda Accord LX, 4-door, 2.4 VTEC
I'll soon be replacing the secondary O2 sensor (the one that's mounted in the catalytic converter) and have a few quick questions. The replacement sensor came with a long wiring harness, complete with grommet where the harness passes through the floor into the car's interior. My question is where exactly inside the car is the connector for the O2 sensor, and how much interior do I need to remove (if any) to get to it? Or would it be easier to cut and splice the wiring underneath the car? Any help would be appreiciated.
Thanks!

Re: O2 sensor question
Don't cut and splice it. The rear O2 connector is located underneath the passenger's seat/carpet. To access the connector slide the passenger seat all the way forward. Look underneath the seat at the carpet. You will see there is a section of carpet that folds back. It is held in place by a pushpin. Pull the carpet back and voila. You will see it. Good luck.

KWay and HPM, thanks for the info! I really wasn't looking forward to having to remove half the interior to get to that connector....

If not, where is the secondary O2 sensor and connector?

Re: O2 sensor question
Job is done! I replaced the secondary O2 sensor yesterday, no real problems. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the heat shield around the catalytic converter is bolted into place instead of welded, which made accessing the sensor much easier. FWIW, I didn't have a metric wrench big enough to remove the sensor (it's 22mm), but a 7/8" wrench fits just fine.
Creator: not sure on your car, but in mine, the secondary O2 sensor is screwed into the catalytic converter, with the connector under the passenger side front seat. You can see the sensor if you look under the car
