Is this normal for rear brakes?
So the rear brakes on our 06 Accord have finally gotten worn out. I went and got some Raybestos pads and put on there. Not a big deal as I've done quite a few sets of brake pads in the past. Rotors looked ok so I didn't replace them.
Anyway, after getting it all back together and taking it for a drive it stops fine and doesn't squeel. However, if you pull the emergency brake hard it just slowly slows the car down. Doesn't stop it fast or slide the tires. Should it? I know on the 96 Accord if you pull the e brake it will lock up the tires.
I wondering if this car isn't like that or if for some reason the brakes aren't getting as tight as they should be.

I had the rear brakes done on my 06 Accord, just like you.
All I will add is, I've never try to stop or slow the car with the e-brake. But I can say that it hold tight, in N, or in D (after the pads were done).

It's a parking brake, so it's not going to slow the car down that much. It's not going to lock up the wheels unless you are going really slow. What you can do is check to see how many clicks it takes from the fully released position till you can feel resistance. IIRC, you should have no more than 7 clicks. If more, you need to adjust the parking brake.
