I thank you for the video, however I wish it lasted longer at the end. I rather have seen the headlamps for at least a minute or more to verify the battery works. It only showed the lights for about 15 seconds.

Are you a Honda certified mechanic?
New to this site ,was wondering your qualifications.
Also there were other threads on this issue in honda-tech.com which you locked. Why?
It seems when you get annoyed with posters on here you end the thread.
I also note how you bash posters on here who are describing an issue with their car.
I do plan to notify Honda,Japan of this site and how it responds to consumer complaints.

I am having the same issue and if only on principle alone refuse to buy a new, bigger battery for a brand new car. Say it is safe and working correctly all you want, it is a pain in the *** and a retarded way to save gas. I want Honda to put the bigger battery in (if that really does fix the problem) at no charge.

I have filed complaints with both American Honda (the lady on the phone even said it didn't make sense but offered to do nothing about it) and DOT.

As for the video, the guy didn't film long enough to prove that the lights no longer flickered. How is that helpful at all?

All of the experts on the forum can claim there is no issue with the dimming/flickering headlights but the State of Georgia has determined otherwise -

My 2008 Honda Accord EX-L Navi I4 has officially been declared a "Lemon" and Honda will be required to repurchase the vehicle.

Anyone who needs help in preparing for Lemon Law arbitration is welcome to send me an e-mail and I will be glad to help.

Mr. Schumacher and others - you were wrong. It is a defect and now I have proof.

All one has to do is look at the NHTSA ODI complaints database and compare all other years and types of Hondas versus the 2008 Accord and the problem is obvious.

Mr. Schumacher - go ahead with the rhetoric.

Mr. Schumacher - where did you go?

You had no problem decrying any of us that said there was a problem with these cars but now your silence is deafening. I was hoping for a rant similar to what you had done in the past - maybe one like the post that got you kicked off another Honda forum.

Maybe you should simply admit that you were wrong. Those of us that actually own a 2008 I4 Accord and have been complaining about the defect finally have a state Office of Consumer Affairs that agrees with us.

Anyone home at the Schumacher house?

Default Dimming Lights

I think this has been going on with previous gen Accords, not just the 8th gen. We have 2 - 2002 Accords (I-4's), and when the AC kicks in, the lights do dim a little bit. I think I have just gotten used to them doing that over the years. Even with all the night time driving I have down since I have owned my car, it has never been an issue where it would potentially cause a blackout or an accident. My only complaint about the stock headlights is they seem like they are aimed lower than I would like them to be.

On a side note, now that I have aftermarket HID's, it seems to be a lot less noticeable.
