Lagging to start
I have a 2009 Honda Accord. Few months ago it started lagging to start. One day it wouldn’t start so I had a friend change out the battery and it started right up. Few days later I had my battery put back in it and it started fine. Had a friend look and he said starter was bad. I drove the car all summer with no issues starting. Recently it started lagging to start. Is there something besides the starter or battery (mine tested good ) that could be causing this?

Re: Lagging to start
Usually its the starter brushes that are worn. They do sell a brush sets for replacement if someone is willing to open the starter up and replace it. Otherwise, you could just replace the whole starter.

Re: Lagging to start
I had to do this last year on my 2009 Accord. Even though I have the factory service manual, the manual doesn't always show everything that needs to be disconnected as clearly as a photo or video. I used part of this guy's video to see the location of certain connectors, etc. more easily. There are other videos out there; but, his video help me see some things . I didn't follow his video step-by-step; only mainly used to view locations of items.
This other link shows how to rebuild the starter (it's is for a 2007 Accord automatic); but, pretty much the same as for a 2009 starter for an automatic.: https://accordrepairsdiy.files.wordp...er-rebuild.pdf
I already had a new starter and replace it with the new. But, just for fun, I replaced the brush kit on the original old starter; it is just sitting around in a box.
