Re: K&N drop in filters... (Matt00)
my MPG improved a " little" bit, throttle seems more responsive. i had old paper filter in before, but for 60+ bucks....i'd say just buy a whole intake.

Yeah, i saw them on ebay too for around the same price a couple weeks ago. I really wanted to get a short ram, but AEM makes the cold air and v2. I really didn't wanna get a coldair because of the weather around here...especially with all the rain. Whats the difference between v2 and cold air?

It's odd I'm getting ready to put a air filter and all in for the 30k service and got to thinking about a drop in K&N. I came here to read reviews and it was the 2nd thread down.
I was going to order one through a family member that works at a store that sells them but I couldn't pass up that Amazon deal.
The reason I decided to get it is that it costs about the same as a Honda filter and you can clean it so you don't have to keep buying them over and over.
I have a K&N Short Ram Intake well CAI but I just put the short ram part on our 96 Accord and I like it but I don't think I want to mod the new one so I decided to just go with the drop in filter. It was a big wash between the K&N and a stock filter. Now I just have to decide if I want to go with the Purolator cabin air filter for $14 or the Honda one for $30 and I should be set.

Edmunds says every 15k. The dealer I bought my car from told me I didn't have to bring it back until 30k after the oil change service at 4k miles when I bough it new. For 30k they wanted to do it but I told them just change the transmission fluid and brake fluid and I would do the rest. I've never done a transmission fluid change on a manual and I don't like messing with flushing brake systems.

Re: K&N drop in filters... (Matt00)
I got my K&N this morning and installed it today. I like the overnight shipping from Amazon haha. Anyway it sounds like it might have a slight more of a roar at upper rpms . I was hoping it wouldn't be loud like an intake and it's not. I don't know if it helped with the throttle response or not I didn't drive it back to back and it feels about like it did yesterday with the regular air filter maybe slightly better.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it.
