Just bought a 06 accord sedan with the 2.4?? Need some tips please.
Got this car for my wife but im gonna be driving it also. If anyone can tell me some fairly cheap ways to speed this car up a lil.I would be greatly appreciative. Kind of new to the tuner world. Ive gotta blown f-150 to play in by the way the car is completeley stock.

the 4 cylinder K24 pulls harder than the V6 and gets better gas mileage
Why would anybody want the V6

really? hmm ive been working on Hondas for about 6 years now and have driven just about everything and I can gurantee you 1000% that the V6 pulls way harder than the K24. Im not talking about a K24 in a 1500 pound hatch im talking about a K24 in a 3000+ pound sedan.
Im not bashing the K24 its a great engine and I know somebody who is going to be swaping one in a hatch. But please dont tell me that a 2.4L engine pulls harder than a 3.5 V6 in the same car.

Put the same mods on each engine and yes the 2.4 Kseries pulls way harder

A properly turbo'd k24 with kpro will outdo any v6 partially due to tuning options. My car is making close to same amount of power with roughly around the same PSI as a turbo'd v6 (which btw is a 3.0, not 3.5). I still get 20mpg 100% city driving, its just a matter of how hard you get on it.
In response to the Hondata gasket, absolutely pointless unless its a high heat/power application. I've seen it tested for heat effectiveness in person and it was only able to improve by a few degrees.
In response to the OP. Any intake will work, AEM, Fujita, Injen. Tons of exhausts, and the only header will work is DC Sports, which I have one sitting in my closet for sale for a 1/3rd of retail price.

I can't comment on once modded but I can comment on the stock 4 cylinder vs v6. On the 06 we went to the dealer and test drove both. The V6 being a 6 speed and the 4 cylinder being a 5 speed so both were manuals. The V6 pulled soo much harder it's not funny. I was actually really dissapointed driving the 4 cylinder around. It just seemed underpowered to me where as I was kind of impressed with the 6cylinder. Maybe on the new ones things have changed but when I test drove them I liked the v6 a lot better which is why we went with that.
As far as gas mileage the 4 cylinder was only rated with like 1mpg better according to the window sticker which isn't much better. On the other hand it's not uncommon for me to see 34-35mpg on the V6 I have with mixed city and highway but probably more highway. This is a lot better than the 29mpg highway it was rated for anyway. Now I don't know what the 4 cylinder actually gets but I just saw a thread of a guy complaining he was only getting 25mpg or something and another guy said he could get 31 if he took it easy. Now they are autos so I'm sure that hurts it some but I'm getting better gas mileage with that all while having a lot more power in stock form.
Now I've never driven either car with a lot of mods so I can't comment on once modded but stock form I liked the v6 a lot better.
I agree with the other guy though if you want more power I'd trade it in for a V6 unless you want to get crazy with some mods. I've never seen much of a power difference in basic mods like Intake and Exhaust and I've done them on more than one vehicle. Sure they may have helped slightly but nothing that just was like wow it feels faster. It still felt the same and just makes more noise.

It's not uncommon for me to see 34-35 fairly often with our V6 although it is a 6speed too. I keep hearing guys complaining about getting around 30mpg with the 4cylinder when driving super easy.

Well, I must say when I get a 4 banger 2008 loaner from the dealer I sure miss my old V6.
I get 30+mpgs highway and 24-25 in town. I'll take that all day over the 4 cyl. Accord.
