How much R134A does the AC hold?
So on my 2006 Honda Accord V6, I need to add some refrigerant to the A/C. I've got a set of A/C manifold gauges, and I know how much it would take if it was completely empty, but I'm just topping it off. When I worked on the A/C on my truck a couple of years ago, I found a chart online for Dodges that told you what the gauges should read depending on the temperature outside. Does anyone have anything like this for a Honda Accord?

when the system is off the gauges should read close to ambient temp. If its 80 degrees outside then both the hi and low should be about that in psi when at rest. if you have good pressure that doesn't necessarily mean you have good content in the system. I just had a car the other day that was at 250psi on the hi side and there was only .5 lbs in the system. Most of those charts are only a general rule and may not be a good judge of what you should fill it with, you could end up over chargeing the system.

I just charged my 2003 4 Cyl Accord. The gauges read approx 30 psi on the low side and 180 psi (or was that 280?...bad memory) on the high side. The recommendation Haynes repair manual suggested to use a thermometer in the center air vent with the AC on maximum while charging. The temeperature should be 30-40 degrees F below the ambient (outside the car near the condensor).
