help please. Center console controls dead below radio. Ideas?
hi all
I have a 2004 Accord. The radio works fine (I had to repair the fuse so the back light would work about 100,000 miles ago). I currently have 215000 miles on the car.
About 3 weeks ago the center console controls stopped functioning. (all controls below the radio...the radio works fine). This includes the AC and heater controls, RR defog, the cigarette lighter, the 12v plug in the center arm rest, and both seat heaters.
I have disconnected the 4 connectors on the back of the radio unit and have reseated them but that has not helped. I have checked all the fuses and they are also good.
I am about 45 miles from the nearest Honda dealer, so it is not at all convenient to take in for assistance.
Can anybody offer any thoughts for assisting?
Thank you very much!!
Gregg

hi guys
Just reporting back.
I took it to VIP Auto....about 1 mile from the house. One of their level 2 techs found the problem. Fuse # 30.....it was not blown but was not making a connection to the fuse box. Working for now...but I was told that if it happens again they recommend replacing the fuse box.
Fun stuff.
On a different note...if anybody has the dead LCD light on the radio problem....I found many people repairing them off of ebay. My repair cost $80, with shipping included. Its been working well now for about 80,000 miles.
