Do people steal the 2008+ Honda Accord Coupes?
Is it as easy to steal as the older Honda models? The reason why I'm asking is because I own a 94 civic that has had a couple of attempts on it. I'm really considering getting an 08 Honda Accord Coupe, but i don't want deal with the prevalence of theft.

They are much more difficult to steal when compared to a 94 civic. The immobilizer system in new vehicles make it impossible to steal unless; they have a key thats been programmed to the vehicle (i.e. one of your keys) or they tow it.

The newer cars have less of a prevalance of theft. Hell I'm thinking of getting rid of my 2000 Integra for the exact same reason.

It's gotten nearly impossible to steal a modern Accord. There are no lock rods, all shielded cables or actuators. Even if you did manage to get the drivers door to unlock it's still going to set the alarm off, you'll have to disable the immobi system (VERY difficult), unlock the steering wheel and drive off with the horn blasting and lights flashing since you set the alarm off. Not likely to happen even if they did get in the door. It would take a good 30 minutes for a pro to get in the car and drive off.

it's very easy to steal a current honda, all someone gotta do is pound your *** and take your keys. Or they pull a gun or knife on you.
in fact the immobilizer cars can be MORE dangerous to the owner than the older cars..
if you live in a CCW state, buy a gun and watch your back..

it sucks that there are people who would rather take your stuff instead of work and earn it for themselves. im sure people will figure out a way to steal them.

Flat bed or a pistol will get it everytime, but for the most part no one is stealing 08+ accords. Too hard just to joyride(no dummies) plus no market for parts(no money) removes theft attractiveness.

Immobilizers just slows the theif down so he would move on to the next car but since all new cars now have them they would have to figure it out or give up we all know car theft is way up...

they ask the same question on H-T and all of us idiots tell you how to steal a car.
to calm your fears... when you buy a newer car, its best to get theft coverage. and if you're financing it, full coverage is required.

Harder to steal yes, but not impossible most theives will just punch your lock out or smash a window to get in factory alarms and immobilizer systems are the same on all accords of the same year so all one needs to do is to study one and figure out how to get around it....

People will steal anything they can get their hands on. Lock it up, alarm it, club it, and when you walk away, do like everyone else do, and look back like it's the last time you'll see your car! lol!!!! ...and smile when you return to see it still there.

that was real big of you....[....] you think just because a car has a chip it cannot be stolen if that was the case then the crooks would be out of business! hate to burst your bubble as our wrecking yard buys plenty of theft recoverys and they had the immobilizer in them and was still intact..
