my battery light comes on but I have checked both the battery and alt. the battery keeps a 12+VDC and the alt reads a 13.4VDC when the car is running.
When the battery light comes on the car runs but progressively we have more issues:
- front windows quit working but back windows are fine
- radio won't initially respond but then comes on - but we can't then cut it off...plus no volume control ever.
- loss engine power to the point where it will not get up a hill.

appreciate any suggestions...

Two things come to mind. #1 Bad battery that has shorted out internally. It's happened to me and caused weird issues like that on my Acura TL years back, mainly with power loss like you said. #2 Bad/dirty battery cable connections, believe me bad connections can look perfect and cause tons of issues even though things test out fine. Other than that... that's pretty strange.

Also, I had a caravan with a battery light. It kept the battery charged enough to run and start and I was able to keep driving for over a week but changing the alternator got rid of the light.
