Any tips on determining if the Timing Belt & Water Pump have been changed?
Just bought an 04' V6 6 speed coupe that is in pristine condition. This thing is flawless, a little lady owned it, so it looks like its never even been sat in. The lady traded it in at a large dealership, and they of course have no records of it. I called around to the local dealerships that it might have been serviced at, and they found some records of service, but no timing belt. I can take the cover off to have a peek, but that is kind of a pain. Anyone got any ideas? I found the previous owner on facebook and sent her a message, but haven't received a response

How many miles? I would almost do it anyway, unless you have definite proof that its been done before.

There's really no way to tell if it's been changed except by looking to see if the belt is worn but, even that can be iffy. Just bite the bullet and replace them.
Also, when changing the timing belt you need to change the tensioner and water pump.
