Any tips for changing the harmonic balancer?
I'm considering changing the harmonic balancer on my 06 Accord V6, although I'm not quite sure I'm to that stage yet. I'm still trying to troubleshoot the noise I'm getting. I have an extra pulley, but I have some questions. I've never tried to change one and I'm aware of the crank bolt removal issues. If you get it off, I always thought you should mark it to make sure it went back on in the same spot, but if you're changing it, what do you do? Do you need to make sure it goes on exactly the same or does it not matter? Any tips for this job?

There is a key on the crank, it can only go on one way.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help. If I end up having to change it I'm hoping my Ingersol Rand impact wrench can get it off. It sounds like it can be a pain.

I had a brand new 1/2" drive IR impact gun rated at 550 lbft. and it didn't budge the crank pulley bolt with an hour or more of trying. I had to borrow a 1" drive impact, and that did the trick with one blip of the trigger. If your impact isn't more powerful, and your crank bolt is as tight as mine was, you're going to have a problem.
