Default Accord type-s or civic type-r

I currently own a 11 year old honda civic 1.4 and its now seen better days. I never owned any type of performance car but I think of buying something with good handling and performance. I live in a rural part of Wales with lots of twist roads. I'm thinking of either a honda accord type-s or civic type-r. I'm not sure which to get. Type-s may be quite big for me but is cheaper to insure & has lots of creature comforts. The type-r would be more fun better handling but more costly insurance and a bit basic interior. Anone driven owned both these cars? What are your thoughts.

Thanks

The civic type r is a sweet machine, at around 232 hp stock that would be fun, also depends if u have a family ,kids, so if yes the accord would be more fit for ya...
