Accord '06 Sedan V6 6Speed
Hey everyone. My first post in these forums. I have used the forums before in search for many questions and was hoping I can get some insight on what tires to get for a set of rims I'm looking to buy for my Honda. The rim specs are 18x8.5 with an offset of +45. The car is stock with no alterations to the suspension. I have spent hours on the web searching recommended tire sizes yet the opinions are varied. I have noticed the top three opinions are 245/35 - 235/40 - 225/45. I am looking to fill up the wells with the most "meat" as far as width and height without any rub. Any suggestions? I understand the differences and math behind the sizes and of course the pros/cons yet wondering what are my limits as far as "girth" so I can avoid rubbing my fenders or suspension components. I have used the tools on TireRack.com and well I don't trust them to be honest when it comes to their limits. With my previous '01 Accord they warned me with sizes in the past and have never had issues going bigger. Thanks in advance.

- With that size wheel, I would consider lowering. You won't be happy with the look without a drop.
- I would not go wider than 235. 245 IMO is too much rubber. I assume you also want performance gains. If you do need more grip, I would consider better rubber, rather than width size.

I have 225/40/18 on 18x8 volks gtc. The drop is about 2.5 or maybe 2.8. Tanabe sustec pro coil overs. Ride is pretty good but you know how that is. I'm afraid if i go bigger on tires i will have rubbing issues also. I may go to the 235/40 on my next set of tires.
