4-cylinder engine design change (2005?)
The other day I heard someone state that Honda did away with timing belts on the 2005 and later Accord 4-cylinder engines.
Any truth to this statement?
If true, what changes did Honda make to improve the design? Timing chains with plastic guides (as on a VW VR6), perhaps?
Changing the belt and tensioner every 105K was fine with me Honda.

They changed to timing chains in 03 (k series engines), which was the start of the 7th generation. From what I've been reading lately, having a timing chain doesn't necessarily mean it will last the life of the engine. The V6 engines still have belts.
