2008 V6 Accord - Altenator or Something Else?
I'm cruising on the highway around 70 mph when the battery shows up on the dash. Not 2 minutes later, the VSA, seatbelt, ABS, and a host of other indicators light up on the dash. Then all the guages go to 0 and the fuel guage goes to empty.
About a minute or two later, the dash goes dark. I turn off the lights, AC, unplugged the cell charger, turned off the radio and the car seems to pick up some energy.
But it eventually dies completely after about 11 miles, 2 miles from home! So when AAA shows up, the tow guy says it's probably the altenator which was my 1st thought as well. He said try to start it and all you hear is the clicking noise. He's like, yep, altenator since the battery got a little charge just from sitting waiting on him to show up.
Finally got the altenator off today and take it to the Zone and Advanced to get it tested. The darn altenator tested GOOD! I purchased a Honda battery in March of this year. The Advance guy suggested testing the wire leading to the altenator and relay. I tested the wire and it was hot so I ruled that out. I didn't see any fuse nor relay that said "altenator" so I assume the guy was talking about the "120A battery relay" ... I touched both sides of the relay and both caused the light to come on.
What could be the problem? I have 200,000 miles. Battery purchased in 3/2014. Honda replaced a lot of stuff in the engine (pistons, walls?, spark plugs, water pump, drive belt, tensioner) last month due to a p0303 code I received that matched a service bulletin problem.
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give.

Thx for the reply.
The ground wire looks to be in good condition. I don't see anywhere that it may have been pinched. No visible tears and no corrosion.
