Hi all, this morning I was going to open the drivers side door to my 06 Coupe and it just won't open. Nothing is stuck in it, the lock seems to be operating properly, but it feels as if the door handle is disconnected from the lock mechanism and is permanently locked now(better than unlicks, right)..

I have to climb in from the passenger side, which, is not fun and rather embarrassing in a parking lot full of fully operable driver side doors... any ideas? anyone else experience this?

Once inside, can you manually unlock the door and then either open it from the inside or outside?

No, which is why I decided to start a thread... I can't open the door from the inside either, which leads me to believe I may have a broken cable? Going to have to pop the door panels off more than likely..

I've never had to do it, and you can bet it's not fun, but yes you will have to get the door panel off.

Good point. I thought there was a cable for the inside handle, and a rod for the outside handle. Hard to believe both came loose/broke at the same time. Did you try using the physical key itself, to unlock the door from the outside?

well i am speaking from a dealer tech from another brand car and we have same issues (couple models) and they usually fail from one side but sometimes both. but to save yourself some cash take the panel off and see if any thing has came loose first
