Advice 2005 Automatic Coupe $3800
Someone is selling a 2005 Accord 2 door, 4 cyl. automatic. 159k miles. It had dirty oil and we went to the mechanic who did a little work at some point. He said they came in and it needed 2 quarts of oil and the coolant topped off. There are records of an oil change in 2011, and this guy put 130k miles on the car in 8 years. What a jackass. I'm unsure of how long he or his mom drove it.
I'm not sure if I want to buy a car from someone who can't check their oil. I'm sure all maintenance has been deferred, I can hear a front wheel bearing. It sounds ok, maybe a little like my Subaru that had the piston rattle, but maybe I'm just hearing things. I could probably get it for $3200-3500.

Must be no pictures... nobodies responding.
They said they'd take $3200. They turned down someone for $3000 before me. The front bumper is cracked and the headliner is loose, interior is fair to poor, like guy was slob/ irresponsible.
It did this thing where we got there, started it, drove to advanced auto, pulled codes, then it wouldn't start. I jump started it easy, drove it more, than it would start. They said that happened to them before and they took it to the mechanic for that and got a starter.
I also got them thinking they need to put a timing belt in it (I thought that too at first). That may be why they are lowering their price.
I usually only buy cars from responsible owners, but dealers buy cars all the time at auctions without knowing anything about them... how bad could it be?

Car fax is showing a few appointments, at pep boys, dealer. Tail light once, maintenance check once twice, front brakes at pep boys. wash and detail at dealership. My mechanic doesn't change the oil when I get work done but then again he knows I'm not a dumbass.

2qts low on oil means the lady was likely the driver. low coolant means they are irresponsible. the low price should give u a clue about the sellers. they are motivated to sell. u can have their problems. 3k would be a nice down payment on a better accord, keep searching
