2005 Accord Idle High Coasting Normal While Stopped
My 2005 Honda Accord has started to idle at 1500 RPM's while coasting but as soon as I come to a stop after a few seconds it drops down to it's normal 1000 RPM's. Does anyone know what this could be or what I need to do to try to correct this?
Thanks,
Jim

Next time you stop, and before the idle lowers, let off the brake for a second. Does the idle drop when you release the brake? If it does, you probably have a vacuum leak going to or in the brake booster.

After I come to a complete stop the idle drops down to normal in about 1 or 2 seconds. When I'm coasting with the car in neutral it still sits at 1500 rpm. When I put on the brakes and come to a complete stop it lowers after 1 or 2 seconds. I've also hear it could be the IAC. I'm not sure where the brake booster or the IAC is located to check them.
