2004 LX REAR DRUM VIBRATION HELP!!!
ok well my mother complained to me telling me the car vibrated violently when braking from higher speeds....
i drove the car and omg it was terrible.... i tested it with the e-brake and noticed it was def the rear drums... so i replaced the drums and shoes... and it is 10x better but still has a small vibration at higher speeds... anyone know what would cause this?? its got all brand shoes and drums...

Honda has a resolution for this. Ive actually fixed an 03 Accord with this same problem. Honda says an irregularity in the wheel hub is causing the drums to distort. Replace the wheels, drums, and tourque to spec.

Re: 2004 LX REAR DRUM VIBRATION HELP!!!
I am a Honda technician. We had a warranty concern on an 03 accord, steel wheels. Severe vibration from the rear brakes. Which only came up after rotating the tires. After exhausting efforts to repair the vehicle by replacing everything from drums to shoes to rear hubs, I even road force balanced the tires. I called Honde Techline. A Honda engineer told me they were having problems with Accords. Apparently, the wheel was manufactured with a slight concave in the hub, causing the drums to distort when torqued. He advised me to replace the wheels and drums. The problem was resolved. After that I have seen at least a couple more Accords with the same problem. The engineer told me this wasnt enough of a problem to generate a TSB. Just one of Hondas dirty secrets. I suppose.
