Area 51

Friend of mine has a 2003 accord with 160k miles. His wife was driving it home when all the lights went out. She drove it another 5 miles and parked it. He went out and changed the alternator but he accidentally hit the pos from the Alt on the manifold and it sparked. Now he has nothing when he turns the key. He says the taillights still work though. I told him to jump it off another car and see what happens but nothing changes. I haven't been able to go look at it yet but I'm assuming he fried some wiring or blew a fuse. Not sure why the taillights still work though. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

check the main fuses, and when are people going to learn you disconnect the dam battery first, it takes what two minutes? this is at least the third post in the last month where someone has done the same thing
