2003 Accord AC blows hot...
Come home to find out the Accord's ac isn't working. Bought it used a year ago and replaced the sensor in the air box to get the fan working. Worked all last year.
Now, fan blows but compressor does not engage. Been out of town for two months so I didn't have time to screw with it. Took to the shop. Compressor kit install? $1300. Ok...maybe I can find the time.
Father-in-law comes into town. We check it out. $300 and change for a compressor from O'reilly. Install new compressor and serpentine belt, evacuate the system and re-charge.
Now the fun begins. No AC. We had disconnected the batt to troubleshoot the system and remove the alternator. No radio, no Nav system and no codes. Well...the moron I got the car from didn't write down the codes for the radio or the navigation system. Got the Nav up and running with the code we found on a sticker in the trunk. We have Nav and ac now. Not so lucky with the radio code. Off to the dealership.
What a P.I.T.A. !!!!
$100ish for the shop to pull the radio and get the SN off the back.
I still saved half what the local shop quoted me but wasted 2 of my 3 days off before heading out of town for another week.
Hope my tale of woe helps someone else out!

The SN can be retrieve from the display without having to pull the radio.
