Default 03 accord transmission

My 03 v6 auto transmission is finally dying. I am wondering what year transmission will fit the 03? Would a newer year fit and are the newer years stronger? Also would a tsx transmission fit and do they have less problems than the accord transmissions. I have done a lot of searching and I know some of the tsx will and i know the 03-04 accord will fit but I was just wondering what other options i have.

Are you talking used, or rebuilt? I don't think you can get a "new" transmission, so re-manufactured is the only un-used option. It probably matters more who remaned the tranny, than which year it was originally built. A wise man told me this company does a good job of re-building Honda transmissions (link below). I have no idea how much they cost, or even how to get one. My transmission is still going. Good luck

I was actually going to search the junk yards and try to find a low mileage transmission to replace mine. They 03 accord v6 transmissions are very well known to go bad so I was just trying to see what else would fit that might be a better transmission. Maybe a later year model from an accord or from a tsx. Ive tried searching but couldn't find exactly what would be a direct bolt up

I'm pretty sure the TSX transmission is a 4 cylinder version, and will not work. Any 7th gen (03-07) Accord V6 transmission should work. Any changes would be minor. 06-7 transmissions are just as weak as the 03, 4, 5 versions IMO, they just likely have less miles on them.

I am looking for a transmission for my 93 Accord ex. Just bought it and the "new" transmission, used as a selling point, did in fact go out about 60 miles after my ownership. Need some ideas on where to find one that will accomodate my limited finances.

How many miles have you had on your Honda? The 03' EX V6 w AT had a recall from Honda for the premature AT failure. If yours did not get fixed with the recall, it could be the issue. I believe they fix the problem on the 04 and beyond. I'd change it with a lesser mileage 03 or 04 gearbox. They redesigned the car in 05 so it may not work the same way. Another possibility would be the TL AT from 04 but I don't know if the Accord ECU would control it. The TSX would not work because it is a weaker unit for a I4 turbo.
