Good morning. I’ve had this reoccurring issue on my 2017 Honda Accord. The tire pressure light keeps flashing but it only happened after the car lot I bought it from replaced the right rear tire. I brought it to the dealership two times and the first time they said they did a ‘master reset’ the next morning driving to work it came on flashing. I brought it again this past Saturday and the guy I dealt with was the worst type of service advisor, but he said because I had a new tire and a different brand and tread pattern the light is gonna keep coming on unless I replace the tires in twos. I have a very hard time believing that and I was essentially arguing with the guy. He printed out the paperwork he read to me and the paperwork from honda mentioning it staying on after replacing one tire but not flashing. At this point, after asking how if they don’t have a sensor in the tire and it uses the speed sensor- which measures off the wheel bearing- how the f*@k would the system know it has a different brand tire and tread pattern? I just wanted to leave and I’m slightly inclined to believe it because I have one new tire and it wasn’t on when i first test drove the car. So my question is, anyone ever have this problem before or heard of it? If so, how do I fix it?

It is the same size but not brand. My old team leader at toyota spoke to someone he knew at another Honda dealer and he said that a new tire wouldn’t cause the light to flash. What if the pressure was too high? I believe it says 32 is what the placard says but I don’t remember.
