Re: yee haw! (exaccord)
**update**
well, thanks to our friends in the prelude forum, i now know that the tranny isnt from the ATR like i was previously misinformed. the tranny is actually from the accord SIR and has the normal 4.266 FD.
im sad/pissed but ill just go for a drive and be happy again.

Re: yee haw! (F23 Power)
and you're still at 4k going 80? not sure if I like that...
yes, thats normal for a H22 tranny
I have heard of one guy using the Civic Si overdrive and counter shaft in a 99 prelude tranny (or some mumbo jumbo like that) but I just dismissed him because he sounded like a drunken retard at the time... anyone?

my friend showed me a website last night from these guys in canada that can make you any final drive you want. of course i dont remember what is was, ill try to find out...
but really the gearing is perfect, having longer gears would be like using the F tranny. and its not like the motor is SCREAMIng at 4grand. its not in vtec so its still okay for cruising.

Re: yee haw! (greensleeper)
on a side note:
today was my first autocross event on the new motor. overall was a horrible day, just because some idiots stripped one of my studs, so i couldnt run w/ my victoracers, i had to run on my ecsta's. holy excessive slide from side to side batman! i was not pleased, not pleased at all.
upside of the day, LSD is friggin amazing! even on my street tires my car pulled out of corners like never before.

Re: yee haw! (94Accord)
i had my friends shop tighten all my after the the swap because my torque wrench broke (currently sent back to craftsman, being repaired) and i didnt want to over tighten them. ******** used the air gun (which i told them not to). it must have been set at like 200ft/lbs. i actually cracked my 17mm deep walled socket trying to remove the lugs. bastards!

Re: yee haw! (94Accord)
nah, 17mm. when i got my K1's the tire rack gave me 17mm ssr lugs.
they only really stripped one, which was in the back and i already replaced it tonight.

Re: yee haw! (exaccord)
heh.. OT but i went through about 7 craftsman torque wrenches last year.
finally got sick of that **** and bought an Armstrong .. my dad reccomended them. Armstrong = Matco, real nice wrenches/tools. Grainger has em.. i paid like 89.00 for my 1/2" 25-150 ft lbs and bout 79.00 for my 3/8" 25-125 in lbs
Few more bucks, but better than constant broken wrenches.
nothing more annoying than a torque wrench going bad when you're trying to 3 step your new 2000 dollar aluminum heads down
