windshield wipers go to far in each direction
my windshield wipers go to far in each direction. when it comes up the tip of the drivers side wiper hits the edge of the pillar and when it goes back down it goes to far in that direction also. i thought about trying to get a shorter blade but i didnt think that would fix the problem. any ideas?

Have you ever taken the whole windwasher off of the car such as the blade and the arm? If you took the arm off and then mounted it back on again too high on the windshield it would cause the blades to go farther than they normally should.

Good question!
My car has been doing the same thing for a couple of years now.
I have tried relocating the off position of the arm many times and it still ends up eventually working back to hitting the pillar going up and near the hood going down. I just assumed it was a wiper motor issue etc.
Hopefully someone has a simple solution. It annoys me every time it rains.

I've not actually worked on the windshield wipers on my Honda... but on my Volvo you just pop up the cap over the bolt (right where it connects to the car) and just tighten up the bolt.
Play around with where the windshield wiper connects to the car, see if you can see any hinges or if you can easily pop up the cover of in that area.
