Hey guys... I'm new here... I live in the Mtl, Can area and I have a 2k 6th gen accord coupe.. and I want to put in a H22a swap. Sounds easy eh? That's what I though... but when I started to look for a complete kit H22a swap, all the stores only had 92-95 H22a... I triied to look for a post concerning this topic but failed to find any... so here I am asking you guys... What year is your car and what year is your H22a??? I just think that it will be silly to have a 2000 car/body and put in a 95 engine... seems a lil odd for me and also one of my buddy told me that it is illegal to put a engine that is older than your car... a lil Help Please? *shrugs*

It depends on the state whether it's illegal to have an engine older than your car but the reason a lot of people do it is because pre-96 cars were OBDI (more tunable). Since you have a 6th gen (OBDII), it would make the swap easier if you used a 96+ H22 (OBDII) but using a 92-95 H22 isn't out of the question. Try looking to for a wrecked 5th gen Prelude (H22A4) around your area.

i have a 2000 h22 in a 94 accord. Most junkyards have motors around. You just need to call around and find the right one. Look up Import AutoSalvage.. They have great motors with everything and will ship it to you

Also most people use ODB1 H22 Swaps is because some ODB2 ecus have an immobolizer and they are difficult to get around. Also if you use an ODB1 ecu you can have alot better tuning such as hondata.

Thanks for the input guys... I know OBD1 is much better than OBD2... but however.. it is much more simpler to put a 98+ h22a4 (OBD2) in my car since it's already OBD2... the point why I don't wanna put a OBD1 is because they are much "older" engines and I don't like the fact that the engine is like 5 more EXTRA years older than my car LOL... but I heard of an adaptor or somesort where you can turn the OBD2 -> OBD1...

Also... a NEWB question... if I wanna put an CAI for my new H22a4, I have to get a H22a4 CAI and not a Accord right?... I know this is such a stupid question... u guys might even think who the hell is this guy ... but I was just wonderin' if the H22a4 CAI will fit into the Accord "space allowed to put the CAI" dat's mainly why I'm asking......


Finally... for those who have a 6th gen accord w/ H22a4... any cons about the swap?

yes you should get a H22a4 CAI...the only difference is that the prelude CAI is alil bigger but no major difference.
