Turns over but wont start. Sport light flashing
I have a '93 2.0 ES automatic. At the moment I cannot get it to start although it turns over fine (i.e. battery etc ok) but will not fire. The sport light comes on when ignition turned on then after a couple of seconds starts flashing. I suspect this is telling me something but not sure what. My local dealer claims ignorance unless I tow it in to him. Any thoughts?

Sport light ?????
Check for spark. easiest way is to remove a spark plug, stick it to the engine and crank her over to see
then check for fuel. after you crank does it smell like fuel (flooded)?
Is the pump priming (can you hear the pump buzzing for a couple of seconds when you turn the key to the on position?)

The tranny uses the 'Sport' light just like the check-engine light. Whatever you do to read check-engine codes, that's how you read transmission codes. Maybe a flashing LED on the tranny computer, or maybe you jumper a plug somewhere & the 'Sport' light flashes the code. I don't know which year they changed...
Search for CEL or codes or something like that.
