Default tps sensor?!?

i have a 90 accord. with the f22. the tps is bad causing the idle surge. is their any company who makes a tps for the car. would i be stuck drilling out the rivets and taping the tb for bolts and putting a new tps. or is everyone just replacing the tb with a used oen that has a tps on it thats good?

If you are having a problem with your idle surging, it sounds to me like you may actually have a problem with your Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. Check your coolant level, make sure your radiator is full and crack the bleeder valve on the thermostat housing to relieve the system of any air around the t-stat. If your coolant level is low, that will cause your idle to surge. If your coolant level is ok, you may want look into replacing the IAC valve which 9 times out of 10 will be the problem long before the TPS sensor will ever go bad.

If you do decide to replace the TPS -- it's actually not riveted: http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-ma...sor-tps-58326/

I do agree with Inspire, though. Check all the other components first.

Yes. I work for Honda and it is pretty accurate for me to say that I am certain it is the IAC valve. This is an infamous problem on Honda's and Acura's across the board.

A surging idle is caused by low coolant level, faulty IAC valve, or faulty fast idle thermo valve.

What does your throttle cable look like? You may have loosened it or something by accident.

Did you bleed the coolant system?

I'd also go back and disassemble it and see if you neglected anything

The cable? It just needs to be tight enough to where there's no slack but does not pull on the valve.

ok i will check. if thats not the case. what should i eliminate. would the valve being tightened down to much or not be a problem. because i replaced the tb and the valve seems like that nut is tighter on it.
