Fluctuating Idle

Fluctuating Idle
My car has a fluctuating idle. After I ran the car for a while, the idle fluctuates when I stop in neutral. My mom's car also does this. What is the problem?

Re: Fluctuating Idle (AZNracerx1989)
It could be a number of things. The coolant system may have some air in it. This means you need to bleed the system (Easy fix w/ a haynes manual). It could also mean that you have a broke or stuck TPS (Throttle position sensor). It is also possible that the timing is off. Does the car run right after it warms up? How bad is the fluctuation? From what RMPS?

Seems to be the CTS "Coolant temp sensor" Take a look at that first, easy to do. If it's not that then look towards you're Fitv "fast idle thermo valve, then possible Iacv "idle air control valve. It always seems to be one of the three, but it's easy to check vacuum hose leaks and the cts sensor.
